Brontide
€12.50
Brontide is a top-down cabled cardigan inspired by earthquakes and seismic events. Dramatic cables emerge from reverse stockinette and — like shifting tectonic plates — move back and forth covering the circular yoke, revealing deep chasms. Smaller cables flow seamlessly down the front edges.
The cardigan is worked in one piece from the top down. Short-row shaping is used to create a rounded neckline. Waist and back shaping give this hip-length cardigan a flattering hourglass shape. The reverse stockinette sleeves are worked seamlessly as well. Stitches are then picked up for the ribbed button bands. Knitted in plump, worsted-weight yarn, the cables truly pop up out of the reverse stockinette background.
The pattern is written with both metric and US terminology. Both written and charted instructions are given for the cable panels.
The pattern includes photo tutorials for German short rows and one-row buttonholes.
