Burnham :: sock knitting pattern

Burnham

€7.50

Burnham are knitted from the toe up in the round in twisted and traveling stitches. Tiny cables running at the edges of the foot transform into gussets, creating striking right triangles on both sides of the foot. A heel flap worked in twisted stitches flows seamlessly into the leg pattern.

The twisted-stitch pattern is foot hugging, giving a comfortable fit on a wide range of foot sizes. Two options for gusset placement are provided so both foot and leg length can be adjusted to fit your measurements. Right and left socks can be worked identically or — if you love perfect symmetry or are from the Mirror Universe — as mirror images of each other.

The pattern is written with both metric and US terminology. Both written and charted instructions are given for the stitch patterns.
