Christmas Knitting

These legwarmers were a completely ex tempore idea. Knit in a couple of days in manly colors, these went to warm my dad’s ankles. I didn’t even have to ask him to try them on to see if they fit – he quickly put them on and wore them for the rest of the Christmas Eve evening! Kainuu Grey is a rare sheep breed, related to Finn.

  • On Ravelry: Kainuu Grey Legwarmers

  • Yarn: Reinforced Kainuu Grey sock yarn (85% wool, 15% nylon, worsted weight) from a local farm, undyed in grey and dark brown

  • Pattern: Improvised! 60 sts in 2x2 rib, 4-row stripes

  • Needles: 4.5 mm
