Someone Else's
Do you ever get the feeling that the project you’re knitting isn’t really yours? That you’ve raided someone else’s stash and are knitting with their yarn?
Ever since I knitted Bruym for NeulistiMNK for Christmas 2014 I’ve wanted one for myself. I got a squishy, woolly DK yarn in two lovely fall colors. Since I used DK instead of fingering that was in the original, I had to cheat a little to make the yarn go all the way. The result is a soft and warm shawl that would’ve been very comforting in the coming winter. It just wasn’t for me.
So, the shawl went to sock designer extraordinaire TiiQ who likes to work in warm, muted colors.
On Ravelry: Bryum pour… quelqu'un d'autre
Pattern: Bryum by Berangere Cailliau
Yarn: Pirtin Kehräämö Kampalanka 110 tex x 4, one skein (210 m) of #5 brown and 195 meters/214 yd of #313 orange
Needles: 5.5 mm
Mods: Switched MC and CC after second textured section, worked until the third textured section, then knitted a garter-stitch border until I ran out of the brown yarn.
Still no Bruym for me.
