13 Sweaters in 2013: Antler

Number 3 is off the needles!

  • On Ravelry: Antler Island

  • Pattern: Antler Cardigan by tincanknits

  • Yarn: 953 yd / 871 m of Garnstudio DROPS Alaska in #54m heathered purple

  • Needles: 5.0 mm and 6.0 mm circulars

  • Mods: knitted the sleeves narrower, lengthened the body, added waist-shaping and short-row shaping to back neck.

I’ve been in denial about it ever since I tried the cardigan on the first time: it’s going to have to undergo some sweater surgery at some point. :( I added a bit of length to the body when knitting – which was a mistake. The cardigan is too long and doesn’t fit comfortably around my hips. Too bad the pattern is bottom-up, otherwise it would be an easy fix. Another mistake is the collar: it’s bound off too loosely and needs to be ripped out. Sigh.
