And here’s a few tips for reducing the time from cast-on to cast-off:
Pick a project and/or yarn you’re really excited about. This will make the project fly off the needles! If you’re just lukewarm about it, it’s not worth it.
Project monogamy. It’s really hard sometimes but it’s amazing how quickly you can finish a garment if that’s the only thing you’re working on.
If mistakes should appear, pick your battles. If it’s going to bother you in the finished garment, rip out immediately! Waiting doesn’t make the problem go away. If it doesn’t – call it a design feature and zoom on!
If all else fails – big yarn & big needles. A bulky sweater doesn’t get worn often but it’s pretty darn quick to knit.
